It is not uncommon to find Christians who firmly believe that the King James Bible is some way the only legitimate Bible. It, however, despite its strengths, has no more claim to legitimacy than most other translations. It was translated in 1611 by command of King James of England. At the time of its translation, few ancient Hebrew or Greek manuscripts were available. Its language is the English of the early 17th century - a language which has words and usage not familiar to most of us today...

In the King James translation there are 32 New Testament entries for various forms of the word sanctification.  It is a doctrine of primary importance in the Christian’s life.  Very few items are so explicit as to say, “THIS is God’s will for you.”  But sanctification, as quoted above, is one of those few.

The doctrine of the ransom sacrifice of our Lord Jesus is basic and fundamental to every other teaching of the Bible.  Though it is simple in concept and clear in Scripture, it is understood by few and unnoticed by most.  Understanding it guards against innumerable errors that have plagued Christianity over the years.
